Type of music-Death Metal/Black Metal
Type of label-none

First, it was occurred in the darkest and gloomiest pub cellar of all Leeds A really good concert room. Quite small but really nice. I was really exited to see their performance because I had checked out on their Myspace page before that, and I have to say that I was surprised to hear a real good and dark atmospheric doom/death metal, played by these beauties.

They played during approximately one hour, and have turned this gloomy place into a fuc**** hell ! No really, even if it was not that crowded, these girls achieved to play a really efficient death/doom metal. The apocalyptic atmosphere they created, especially through the guitars and the shredding screams of Satanica, was something really unique and rare.

Switching from furious and destroying rhythms to slower and more painful ones is something that these girls really mastered. They are so professional and concentrated when they are playing, it’s a real pleasure to see them live.

I have to say that “Mercy” and “Sufferance” were my favourites titles because of the energy that these songs involved.

A special thank to Leanne, and all my admirations as well, because she was simply so good at playing guitar! I really advise all the Doomsters of this forum to go to see them if they have the occasion. Don’t miss them guys!

Reviewd by David/Darklink from the MDB forums, thanks David!

SEVERED HEAVEN @ The Snooty Fox, Wakefield Sunday 19th August!

Severed Heaven are somewhat of a rarity. An all girl Death/Doom Metal band will always find certain people are against them or maybe don’t think they have what it takes. That trend however stops here. On tonights display its clear that any of the afore mentioned opinion will get their throats well and truly ripped out. Its pure aggression!

Constantly dark and always ferocious, Severed Heaven display a confidence beyond their years and an ever growing tightness between the members. The result? An apocalyptic sound like the world could end with any chord played. Through “Sufferance” & “Darkness Falls” your left marvelling at the expert musicianship from all involved whilst front woman Satanica shredds into the crowd and the atmosphere like a raging sinister knife!

Its chuggy, brutal but always compelling, Severed Heaven are serious and they are coming to destroy your senses! (9) - Luke, DEATHDOOM PRODUCTIONS

“NOT ONLY THE BEST FEMALE DEATH METAL BAND BUT ONE OF THE BEST BANDS IVE HEARD IN A LONG FUCKING TIME!” - The Metal Guru

“THE ALL GIRL METAL/GOTH BAND HAVE A GREAT FOLLOWING AND ARE EXCELLENT LIVE - SO DON’T MISS THEM!” - Leeds Rio

FOR GIG BOOKINGS OR ANY OTHER INFO PLEASE CONTACT LEANNE - 07912061304
You are going to love them! “Val’s Hell@www.myspace.com/tinyvyoung

Type of label-Indie

Born from a growing disillusionment at the stagnancy, lack of conviction and lack of originality around them, Erowid sought to create a new musical extremity never heard before within the Scottish scene. Founded at the end of 2006 after the demise of their former band Ex Infernis by Chris B and helped by MCG, they set out to bring together the most extreme aspects of underground music into one unique blackened sound. With a passion for all extreme music and incorporating this broader spectrum (especially the electronic/industrial genres but also classical music and many others) into their metal roots, Erowid gained more musical freedom allowing them to create a darker and more extreme sound with aspects not so commonly found within the black or death metal scene. Inspired by their own personal misanthropic views and a hatred of religion, humanities attitudes and its disregard for the planet, and an appreciation of mind-altering substances Erowid were now set to unleash a new hell upon the world.

Their demo “Pro Aeturnum” was recorded early 2007 and after many delays is now finally available through CDG Records. With MCG no longer involved due to other commitments, Erowid’s new material is now being solely written by Chris. With new material recorded,a new cd or a possible split release is planned for the beginning of 2008. Two new unreleased tracks were also done, a cover of Mayhem’s classic “Chainsaw gutsfuck” and an exclusive remix of “The Final Release…”done by S.W.P. An expanded line-up for live performances is also being planned at the moment with a view to taking Erowid to the stage soon. With recognition and support from fans across the globe Erowid continue to go from strength to strength bringing forth unique blackened metal with originality and conviction.

Take a listen to this, it will please your ears like it does mine! I too also want to help support this band and many others that I know of…contact me @ www.myspace.com/tinyvyoung

Type of music-Metal

From within the blistering heat of the central Arizona desert, Rising Pain was born when vocalist Justin Bredvig and guitarist Ricky Racines met in 2001. The band didn’t really get started until Danny Racines, Ricky’s brother, moved from Ecuador to play bass in 2002. Throughout their musical career, An EP titled “Salvation For None” was released in 2003. Rising Pain had problems with finding a drummer that fit the band’s personality and dedication. The lineup was perfected in 2006 when Andy Luffy joined the band. In an era when image and attitude supersede the music itself, Rising Pain has the talent and passion to make a lasting impression. Although metal is their genre of choice, they refuse to limit themselves. The band is not afraid of demonstrating their take on what heavy metal can be. In addition to plentiful shows at bars and venues in the Phoenix vicinity, Rising Pain has toured the west coast and other areas surrounding Arizona . The band recently signed a distribution deal with Open Grave Records and on October 23rd 2007 their first full length album “Existence Is Futile” will be available across the United States as well as in the U.K. and other European countries

So buy their new CD, and Merchandise. for the love of Metal for Hells sake and yours! Oh, and help me to be the promoter that I know I can be? Contact me @ www.myspace.com/tinyvyoung
